Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE)

The mission of AMTE is to promote the improvement of mathematics teacher education, K-12.

AMTE Goals

• Promote ongoing professional growth of mathematics teacher educators;

• Promote communication and collaboration among those involved in mathematics teacher education;

• Promote effective mathematics teacher education programs and practices;

• Promote recognition of the ever-increasing impact of tehnology on mathematics teacher education;

• Promote research and other scholarly endeavors related to mathematics teacher education;

• Advocate for effective policies and practices related to mathematics teacher education at all levels; and

• Advocate for equitable practices in mathematics teacher education, including to support and increase the diversity of mathematics teachers and teacher educators.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)

NCTM is the public voice of mathematics education, supporting teachers to ensure equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students through vision, leadership, professional development, and research.
